(Cincinnati.com – By Brendan Ryan of the Cincinnati Enquirer) It is common knowledge that the Social Security fund that pays benefits to retirees and survivors of deceased workers is projected to run dry by 2033. Equally grim is the projection that Medicare’s hospital fund will gasp its last breath in 2024.
What has gotten very little attention or publicity is the plight of Social Security’s disability insurance program, known as SSDI.
This program was added to Social Security during the Eisenhower administration nearly 60 years ago….
