Part 1 of this Series provided information for the Hillsborough County Health Department, a low-cost healthcare provider for residents of Hillsborough County. This post continues that series. I know from dealing with thousands of clients over the last 20 years that money runs tight when a person is applying for Social Security Disability or SSI. Getting to the doctor can get very difficult when you run out of money. Unfortunately, to win a claim for SSDI or SSI, you have to have regular care by a physician.
If you live in Apollo Beach, Brandon, Tampa or any of the other areas of Hillsborough County, I recommended in Part 1 of this Series that you try the Hillsborough County Health Department. A good second option is Hillsborough HealthCare, a group of networks with hundreds of providers serving people below the poverty limit who are not eligible for other insurance. You can reach them at (813) 272-5040. They are located at 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33602.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to see a doctor if you are making a claim for SSDI or SSI. If you are running out of funds, it can be very difficult to do that. Social Security Judges want you to show that you have tried to exhaust every option you may have available, so keep trying. The free and low-cost healthcare resources in this Series, like Hillsborough Health Care, give you some options that you should use to seek healthcare.
SSDI Attorney John Tucker has offices in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. Call (813) 594-5000 for a free consultation if you have a Social Security Disability claim in the Tampa Bay region and would like to talk to an attorney.
